Race Time!

Presidents' Day Weekend has rolled around once again, which means one thing at bikefix: 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo. Oh, and Valentine's Day. As usual, I've found myself cycling through excitement, fear, confidence and horror in the run-up to the race. At the time of this writing, my duo-class partner is unable to attend thanks to an unexpected work conflict. As a result, I anticipate doing all of our laps, if only for personal satisfaction. That's meant a last-minute scramble for additional lighting as well as some serious second thoughts about bringing the single speed. Keep an eye on epicrides.com for race weekend reports.

Of course, as long as the weather cooperates, it'll be a great weekend. Lots of friends will be in Tucson for several days' camping and riding- never a bad thing. While there will be no second review this week, I'll be getting loads of time and experience riding Geax's new AKA tires, Magicshine's ridiculously cheap MJ-808 lightset, Kool 'N Fit's vasodiolating spray, Rock Shox's 2010 Reba Team, ESI's silicone grips, new gloves from Castelli and Specialized and every pair of shorts in the closet. If you're out in Tucson, look for bikefix jereseys and banners and say hi. We'll be back on our normal review schedule next week!
